Yayasan Jembatan Cahaya Kasih plays both implementing and intermediary roles to advance families welfare in marginalized communities
Eve lost everything—her safety, her dignity, and her beloved daughter. Overwhelmed by grief, she lived with deep trauma and despair.
With no support and nowhere to turn, Eve was drawn into a life of exploitation, where she met another violent partner who frequently abused her and her child. In a tragic turn, Baby Dev lost her life at the hands of this partner.
Eve’s story is not an isolated tragedy. She represents millions of young women trapped in cycles of poverty, violence, and hopelessness, deprived of education, protection, and economic opportunity from the very beginning.
And Baby Dev is one of countless children who fall victim to the harsh realities of intergenerational poverty among marginalized families.
Fortunately, Eve’s story did not end in despair. With the help of a grassroots community, she received therapy, learned new skills, and found steady work as a cashier at a community-based waste processing business. She now stands as a woman restored—with hope, dignity, and strength.
This real life story inspired the birth of Yayasan Jembatan Cahaya Kasih—a philanthropic foundation of faith and humanity to empower mothers, nurture children, and build a just and compassionate world
Yayasan Jembatan Cahaya Kasih is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the welfare of marginalized families in Indonesia. We believe that family welfare is the foundation of a just, compassionate, and prosperous world. Centering our work on mothers and children, the foundation implements programs in economic resilience, education, health, and protection, while bridging philanthropies and communities to drive lasting change for families in marginalized communities. The foundation was established in 2025 by Celine Widjaja and Keete Richard Ramli, grounded in the values of faith, compassion, and humanity.
